Bandar Seri Begawan - In conjunction with the anniversary of Prophet
Muhammad's birthday (pbuh), Bruneian Students Welfare Association in
Egypt (BRUCAI) organised a celebration recently.
The ceremony is an annual event activity organised by the Religious
and Moral Committee. The guest of honour at the event was the Attaché
of Education and Cultural in Egypt, Haji Aziman bin Haji Zaman. The
ceremony began with a mass recital of al-Duran followed by a speech
from the guest of honour.
The highlight of the event was a `Nasyid' competition between three
groups where the group -Panglima' won the first place while Pahlawan'
came in second place followed by `Laksarnana' in third place.
Meanwhile, laksamana' won the title for the best lyrics written by Ak
Fairuz Zakry bin Pg Haji Rosley.
The aim of the competition was to recognise new talents in writing
lyrics in the hope of emphasising the importance of having the ability
to excel in both academic and other fields such as writing lyrics and
composing songs. Writing lyrics in this sense is a way to deliver
dakwah and Islamic teachings.
During the ceremony, a religious talk was also given by the head of
Bruneian Students Welfare Association in Egypt, Mohammad Yaasir bin
